It’s no secret that the education landscape has changed. The medium for learning has drastically shifted from being a formal classroom environment to, in some cases, entirely an online experience. Some educational institutions have progressed from a credit hour model to a demonstrated proficiency model.
All this being said, the academic support model has not changed concurrently. Upswing fills in this gap and provides online assistance to students in various disciplines at participating universities.
I have heard countless tales of nontraditional students praising Upswing for the ability to provide support outside of normal office hours for the unique and specific course questions they have.
I am proud to be a part of this organization that provides equitable support to all students because tutoring should not be a privilege for the few, but an opportunity for all.
Education is one of the most important skills someone can acquire. Whether it is an associates degree from your community college or a PhD from Harvard, it is an accomplishment. It shows you set long terms goals and achieve them. It is good for the economy and it helps everyone progress towards their self actualizing ambitions.
Kevin began tutoring during his graduate program while pursuing his MBA assisting students who needed help with accounting and finance courses. He enjoyed helping individuals overcome class obstacles, unwind opaque course material. During his tenure as a tutor, Kevin was presented with an opportunity to become an Adjunct Instructor, which introduced him to Upswing. He really appreciated the mission and vision of the organization and has continued to tutor with Upswing since. Outside of tutoring and teaching, Kevin is a finance professional at a large organization and has applied continuous learning, improvement, and dedication as pillars for his success.
